Forklift driver wanted in Genemuiden! Work in a modern production hall, earn €3,400 to €4,000 gross per month and enjoy variety in an informal working environment.
Job description
As a forklift driver in Genemuiden, you work in a large production hall where carpet and textile flooring solutions are produced. You start your day together with your team and the shift leader with a cup of coffee and discuss what needs to be done during the shift. After that, as a forklift driver you get to work moving large rolls of carpet. You work with modern forklifts equipped with a special pin, so you can pick up and place the rolls safely and neatly. You make sure carpet rolls end up in the right place and that the logistics process keeps running smoothly, so production does not come to a standstill. You keep an overview on the floor, you pay attention to safety in the hall and you make sure routes stay clear, so everyone can keep working comfortably.
During your shift, as a forklift driver you are continuously busy with inbound and outbound flows around the machines. You prepare rolls for the next step in the process, collect finished product and make sure everything is stored in the right place. You check whether rolls are properly labelled and you register what you move where necessary, so the warehouse and production always know where everything is. If you see something is not right, for example a damaged roll or a deviation in stacking, you report this immediately and think along about a solution. When staffing is short, you sometimes jump in with another team, which gives you plenty of variety and helps you learn more and more about the entire process.
You work in a 3 or 4 shift system in which Sunday is a fixed day off. Most of the time you work with a fixed team of 5 to 10 colleagues, but you also coordinate with other teams in the hall. Breaks are flexible and paid. If the machine is running smoothly, you can take a short eating or toilet break yourself. At the end of the working day, you discuss together with the team and the shift leader how it went and what could possibly be improved.
After a training period of 2 to 3 months, you can work independently as a forklift driver. You get plenty of variety and there is room to grow, for example towards shift leader. The atmosphere is informal, everyone helps each other and together you work towards the best result. Through the staff association there are regular fun team outings, so it stays enjoyable outside of work as well.
