Forklift driver wanted in Schiphol Rijk! You will work 25 to 30 hours per week in a busy and well organised warehouse. Are you accurate and a real go getter?
Job description
As a forklift driver in Schiphol Rijk, you make sure pallets and parcels move safely and neatly through the warehouse. You unload trucks, take goods out, weigh them when needed and place everything in the right location in the warehouse. After that, as a forklift driver you also handle internal movements. You bring pallets and parcels to the correct zone so the process keeps flowing and colleagues can continue scanning and checking. You work at a good pace, but you stay alert, because you understand that safe working and clean manoeuvring make the difference on the floor.
Once the goods have been scanned or checked correctly, you are the forklift driver who manoeuvres everything tightly and safely to the right truck. You keep oversight, watch for mistakes and act immediately if you see that routes or loading order need to be adjusted. You work neatly, you think ahead and you find it important that everything is correct, because your work determines whether everything leaves on time. If you notice a pallet is not positioned properly or a load needs to be distributed differently, you handle it right away. You quickly coordinate with colleagues and make sure the work continues without hassle.
You work 25 to 30 hours per week in shifts and it can happen that a shift runs longer when it is busy. That means you sometimes work extra hours and because of that you can earn more shift allowance for the work you do. You will join a team with a normal, friendly atmosphere where everyone helps when it is time to push. You will be trained well, you get clear agreements and you know exactly what is expected of you. There are also plenty of growth opportunities, for example towards a coordinating role. Even though the warehouse is large, we value personal attention and make sure you feel at home in a nice team.

What we offer
● You receive 8.33% holiday pay and extra vacation days that increase with age, so you have enough time to recharge.
● Your travel costs are reimbursed at €0.23 per kilometre, nicely arranged.
● You work shifts from 05:00 to 10:30 or from 17:00 to 21:30, and when it is busy your shift may run longer, which means you earn even more allowance.
● You receive shift allowance of 130% for hours before 06:00 and 120% for hours after 21:00, so working those hours pays extra.
● You receive a year end bonus of €1,074 gross per year, which equals about €89.50 gross per month extra.
● You work weekdays only, so your weekends are free.
● We prefer you to be available 5 days a week for the shifts, but if you can do fewer days and you are still very motivated to start as a forklift driver, just apply.
● You get the chance to grow within the warehouse, for example towards a coordinating role.
What we ask
● You are at least 18 years old and you speak Dutch or English, so you can work safely with the machines, understand work instructions and coordinate with colleagues.
● A driving licence is useful, especially because the location is not easy to reach by public transport for the early shifts, but it is not required.
● After a successful tour, you will take an online Awareness Dangerous Goods course (70 minutes, can also be done on site). After a positive tour, we will request your Certificate of Conduct (VOG); this is at our expense.
